Alana Doherty, 31, from Portglenone in Northern Ireland is the owner and creative designer of the gift and homeware brand Country Ramblings. She launched her business in 2015.
Graduating with a design degree from England in 2008, and moving back to rural Northern Ireland, made it very difficult for Alana to pursue her creative career. Having to take a basic retail job which ended up lasing seven years shattered her dreams of ever having her own design and gift brand. Alana discovered The Prince's Trust in 2015 and, with their support, was successfully able to achieve her goals through the Enterprise programme. Since then Country Ramblings has featured at the large continental markets and appeared on TV, radio and local press. Country Ramblings will showcase at the high profile Country Living Christmas fair in Harrogate 2016, Handmade in Edinburgh in autumn 2016 and are proud suppliers of Tomorrow's Store in London.
Country Ramblings' signature range features a little character named Bluebell. She can be found rambling the countryside in her statement blue dress, red welly boots and polka dot umbrella. Go discover her adventures today!
