Melissa Robson, is an Artist, Designer and printmaker based in the heart of Northumberland. She started her business in 2014.
After Graduating in Textile Design BSc and struggling to find a design job, she joined a local print studio and began screen printing her own designs.
The screen prints began to mount up and she decided she needed to do something with them and test traded at a local craft fair. A friend, who’d received help from The Prince’s Trust to set up her business, suggested she did too.
Melissa wrote her business plan during the Enterprise course and was awarded a Prince’s Trust grant to help her buy materials to build up her stock, to take to exhibitions. She was also assigned a business mentor who has been invaluable in guiding her and helping her focus on her goals, and launched Melissa Robson Designs.
Inspired by her surroundings, and influenced by different cultures and artistic styles, Melissa makes fantastically quirky limited edition prints and stationery, and also paints realistic one-off commissions.
